JBridge: Java Web Programming Course

JBridge Home >> Web Programming Course Last updated: Monday 19th May 2003

Duration

The full course duration is 5 days.

Objectives

The course objective is to train existing Java programmers to become effective Java web application developers. The course covers the topics included in the syllabus for the Sun Certified Web Component Developer for the J2EE Platform, so is a useful step in preparing for the certification route. However, other essential topics are included that go beyond the certification syllabus but are necessary for developing a complete web application. These include JDBC (and other ways of getting at your database), basic EJBs and basic web services.

Course Style

Delegates will complete the coding for a simple but non-trivial Java application during the course. Over half the time will be spent on this practical work, interspersed with lectures and review. The course is intensive - there is a great deal of material to cover. It can be tailored, however, to individual company needs.

Who is the course for?

The course is for Java programmers who need a thorough grounding in JSP, servlet and other complementary technologies for building web applications.
